Pecos National Historic Park

Another group of Pueblo People lived here and the Pecos National Historic Park has recorded the history of these people.

Just a few miles North of this park was a forest fire that had been burning for more than a week. What you see here is smoke from that fire, which we were told was mostly contained.
Pueblos entered their houses through the roof. This is an actual reconstruction of one of the ceremonial houses.

The Spanish came here and built this mission in the 1600's. The Pueblo People later fought the Spanish and won; But the Spanish came back some years later and defeated the Pueblo People.
